Deployment Checklist

Following are the pre-deployment, deployment, and post-deployment procedures. This checklist is for ECX deployment to a VMware appliance host.

Pre-Deployment Checklist

Deployment Checklist

1	Install ECX by deploying an OVF template to create a virtual appliance containing the application on a VMware host.	Install ECX as a Virtual Appliance
2	To access ECX, upload a valid product key to the virtual machine where ECX is deployed.	Install ECX as a Virtual Appliance
3	Log on to the ECX virtual appliance to set your local time zone. Time zone is used for policy scheduling.	Set Time Zone
4	Launch ECX to set a new Super User password.	Start ECX
5	Configure LDAP Authentication and establish a secure connection to the LDAP server.	Register a Provider

Post-Deployment Checklist

	Launch ECX to begin using the application and its features.	Start ECX

	Optionally, log on to the virtual appliance's web-based management console to review the configuration of the virtual appliance. Available information includes system settings, network, proxy settings, and available updates.	Manage the Virtual Appliance
